Why this diet?
  • No special food to buy
  • Increased energy
  • No special exercise or gym membership needed
  • You can lose a pound a DAY!
  • Easy to follow
  • Examples of foods are at the end of this information
HCG is the same hormone that pregnant women produce. When given in small amounts, it will mobilize stored fat that is otherwise nearly impossible to get rid of. This fat is referred to as non-essential fat. The HCG allows the low calorie diet and weight loss WITHOUT burning muscle mass. This non-essential fat normally would be the very last to be burned even after lean muscle without this HCG. This is why people say they can’t lose that weight around the middle (trunk) area.
The HCG injections are used in conjunction with a 500 calorie a day diet. One might ask about being hungry on the 500 calories a day, but the key is the otherwise stored fat is also being burned and supplies those calories to the body, about 1500 more calories. This makes the average weight loss a pound a day. At the end of this information is a list of foods and calories. You will be surprised at how much food you can eat within the 500 calories a day. It has also been helpful for patients to keep a log of what they eat and when they exercise.
Things to avoid while on the HCG diet are oily make-up, lotions, body washes, etc. as these are absorbed in the body through the skin and seen as fat. You need to use oil free products. You also need to avoid oil in the diet. Use mustard, salt, pepper, vinegar, garlic, etc for seasoning and cooking. As long as it is fat free it is acceptable. You also need to look for sugar in foods. Patients are often surprised at the hidden sugars in their foods. Unsweetened tea and coffee, water, and diet drinks are allowed.
Do not get discouraged if you do not lose one day. The pound a day is average and some days may be 2 pounds and others may be zero. Some patients have lost more inches than pounds and decreased 4-6 clothes sizes on the diet. Also, starting the menstrual cycle on the HCG is not harmful, but many women gain water weight on their cycle and this will resolve as normal.
We will work with each patient individually on their weight loss needs. The HCG diet comes in a variety of plans and we will identify the correct one for you. Day 1 of the regimen is when the injections begin. Day 1-3 of the regimen allows as may calories as you want to consume because the HCG takes 3 days to build up in the body to an effective level. From day 4 on is when the 500 calorie restriction is in effect. The last 3 days of the plan does not have an injection but does require the 500 calories a day because the HCG stays in your body for 3 days after the last injection.
As with any weight loss plan, there is the active phase (weight loss) and the plateau phase. The plateau can be frustrating for patients because they are not actually losing weight during this phase. However, this phase is necessary fr the body to reset itself to the recent weight loss or it will rapidly regain the weight. It is important not to gain during this phase. It is important to drink the appropriate amount of water during both phases.
Heavy exercise is not recommended with the HCG diet because the 500 calories and the calories from the stored fat is not enough for heavy aerobic and weight lifting exercise. We recommend that a patient walk 5 times a week for 20 minutes at a time maximum. During the plateau phase is the time for heavy exercise.
We get our HCG from an American pharmacy. It is safe and proven effective. It is certified to be the listed potency of HCG When getting HCG homeopathic drops, you are not guaranteed what is actually in the drops. The medications from the internet and from overseas will also vary and are usually very inconsistent.
